The Student Activity Council, more commonly known as SAC, has fostered a large student community within the school. SAC is the school’s backbone for school events, with members often sacrificing months’ worth of lunches for years to run events that make the school year more memorable, often without receiving any reward. The council typically meets every Wednesday to discuss current student concerns and to organize school events. They continue to make sure students feel represented despite being a part of a large student body.

SAC often organizes spectacular events such as Semi-Formal, the Haunted House, and the Food-Truck Festival. These events create a sense of community and belonging for students. A grade 11 student, Hirman Inayat, talks about her experiences working alongside SAC as a volunteer. She says, “Being able to help out, organize, and sometimes just volunteering with my friends is a refreshing change of pace from school work. It also makes me feel more involved in our school, and being able to help spread school spirit somehow, which is nice.”

President of the Council, Navya Vyas, says that having an activity council is important because “SAC doesn’t just plan major events in the school; we also raise students' concerns and address them with the administration of our school.” Furthermore, he states that they “...work with various clubs providing all students… with an opportunity to develop a platform of their own.”

The Student Activity Council is determined to turn the mundane lives of students into ones that can be enjoyed alongside the repetitive days of high school. SAC members work hard to make continuous efforts in creating an environment where students feel represented and appreciated, regardless of the minimal benefits they receive.
